By the way...

James asked me if I expect to win the Nike competition I posted a few days ago.
The answer to that is definitely not.
I'm hoping for mid table mediocrity and nothing more.

Especially since I'll be in Europe for nearly two weeks and will not be taking time to run. At least, I doubt I will take time to run.

That is all for now.

MLS Cup weekend has come to a close

The weekend is gone and Houston are champs again. Good for them.
As always, the Houston fans were fun and great guests.

I have to give the Toronto fans props, too. They are a great group of people and I look forward to seeing them again next season.

It was a looooong weekend and I'm exhausted. I got hardly no sleep at all. But, in the end, it was a great time.

How did the MCF part of the weekend go? Ha! I don't kiss (or not kiss - you don't know) and tell.
All I will say is, we all enjoyed ourselves.

I want to especially dedicate some of this blog to The American Outlaws guys. Not only are these guys super hot, but they have a great thing going on. Check them out at http://www.theamericanoutlaws.com/
Ben and Korey are terrific and have a great vision on what supporting the USMNT should be.
My membership information is on its' way.

Let the games begin!

There was a little girl
Who had a little curl
Right in the middle of her forehead

When she was good
She was very, very good
But, when she was bad
She was horrid

This weekend, I intend to be a very bad girl.
New Englanders and Californian's and Texans, Oh My!
New Englanders and Californian's and Texans, Oh My!

MLS Cup weekend is finally here and in my own backyard.
The festivites beging this very evening.

TK and I have labeled this weekend "MCF" for MLS Cup Flings.
That is the goal for the weekend.

Oh yes, a bad girl indeed.

And the dish ran away with the spoon

Let's first recap my last post.
I did not eat ice cream.
I did not get a massage.
I did not go running.

As for the big news, it's still in negotiations and I don't want to say anything until the details are confirmed.

Now let's move on.

I canceled on a date I was supposed to go on tonight. The reasons aren't clear even to myself.
As it turns out, though; we might be at the same event tomorrow night.
Rather, I will definitely be there and word is, he might be also.
Tch. I'll deal with that tomorrow night.

My Aunt, who I love, admire and adore, published something extremely complimentary about me yesterday.

When I look at her, I see a beautiful, confident, bubbly young woman who, like the old TV theme song goes, "can turn the world on with her smile."

There was much more written about me, but I can't toot my own horn too much, my head might get big.
But, that right there was the part that brought a few wonderful tears to my eyes.

Aunt Margaret, thank you and I love you. Nothing has made me feel that special in a very long time. May I live to deserve your love and one day return the favor.

Lyric of the day:
How dare you say that my behavior is unacceptable
So condescending unnecessarily critical
I have the tendency of getting very physical
So watch your step because if I do you'll need a miracle

You drain me dry and make me wonder why I'm even here
This double vision I was seeing is finally clear
You want to stay but you know very well I want you gone
Not fit to fucking tread the ground that I'm walking on

I won't be able to end this day without...

Ice cream.

A massage.

A run.

This has been one of the busier work days I've had since...
Well; two weeks ago, actually.

HELP!!!

More later...

It's now later.
The day has gotten better. And, I have to say I just might be the world's luckiest girl.
"Why is that Jessica?" you are asking.

Well, I can't tell you now. But, stay tuned.
I may have some very good news forthcoming.

I know, I'm a tease.
That's just how I roll.

Someone make me stop!

I'm achy. I hurt. I'm in pain. My legs are sore, my back is sore.

So what did I do when I got home? I went running.

Though, I admit it was about a quarter of what I usually do. I just couldn't get my body to do more.

I feel like I just need to push through the pain.

Running is my new drug.

A cornucopia Sunday

So many topics to cover.

We'll start with my eye doctor's appointment yesterday. Some bad news I'm afraid.
For one, I have an astigmatism in my right eye. And, my eye muscles are lazy so now I have to wear reading glasses over my contacts while working on a computer and of course, reading.
What the hell, I'm 32! (woops, I mean 25). This condition is what makes elderly people get bifocals. I'm not at that point yet, but still. Pft.

After the appointment with Dr. Bad News, I met Jim for lunch at Lost Dog Pizza Cafe. I've never been there and have only one thing to say... yummy!
Our conversation was mainly about relationships. The good and not so good. Dating is hard stuff. Finding someone to date is easy. Finding someone to date more than once or twice is not so easy.
But, when you find the one worth seeing more than a few times, nothing feels better.

Once I left Jim, it was time for a run/walk. Jen came over and we headed to the cemetery.
I have to say, yesterday was damn hard. Today my back and legs are in pain.

So I decided I needed new running shoes. And now, we're up to this morning.

I went to buy a new pair of Nike running shoes where I discovered a great new Nike Product.
Check it out. You put that in your shoe (the new Nike's I bought today have a slot for the chip in the shoe).
I've ordered one and will give a complete feedback once I've used the product.

Lastly, another New England v. Houston Dynamo final.
I have mixed feelings on this. On one hand, this was the exact same final last year and it wasn't terribly interesting.
However, Houston fans will be in town and that's just awesome. I like those guys.

I have a lot going on next week.

I'm off to run now. Stay tuned.

Lyric of the Day:
I still don't have a reason
And you don't have the time
And it really makes me wonder
If I ever gave a fuck about you

Maybe I should start lying?

It's 1:33AM and I just got home and to be honest, feeling quite pleased with myself.

Why do I have cause to be pleased with myself you ask?

Well, I will tell you. A girls night out ended up with me being chatted up by a cute boy.
Of course this would make any girl feel pleased with herself, however; that's not what has boosted my pride tonight.

He guessed I was 23. Niiiice. Score one for the cute boy.

The girls tonight went to a bar called Fat Tuesday's near the GMU campus. Cute boy asked me if I was a student.

Oh what flattery!

I told him I was not a student and was, in fact, quite a few years out of school. He said "You're about 23?"
I laughed and said "no, not 23". He then said "24, 25?"

We really like this guy, right?!

When I told him I was in fact, 32 he said "No, you're lying. I don't believe you."
HA!

I had the girls verify my age and he was truly surprised.

As for him, he's 25 and a student at Radford University. We chatted for a while and he was a very friendly, smart guy. I eventually excused myself and went back to my friends. He was great and all, but he'll be heading back to Radford after the weekend.

He's part of a trend lately, though. Guys who've been asking me out have been young, young guys. Not that I mind! I'm finding it flattering. None of them believe me when I say I'm 32!

So, from this point forward -- I'm 25.

Damn I rock.

How to spend that extra hour

First let me begin by saying that I'm quite pleased with having moved my blog here. The functionality is much better and I hope my readers follow me.

Now, on to the matters at hand.

We gained an extra hour last night and you might wonder how I spent it. The answer is... running. Yes, running. I woke up this morning, set the clock back the appropriate hour and went running. It was incredibly therapeutic. Few things make me as happy (nor refreshed) as an early morning run.

The fun was cut short though when I started to feel unsafe by a truck that kept coming in and out of the cemetery (that I run in a cemetery is a matter for another day). Anyway, it's better to be safe than sorry I headed home a bit earlier than usual.

The rest of the weekend went like this:
Shopping at Tyson's Corner (is there a way to exit Victoria's Secret without spending a small fortune?) and picking up a rug for my living room.

Add to that watching New England beat New York (sorry Dema, sweetie) and it pretty much sums up my weekend.

Doesn't sound interesting? Ah, see I didn't mention that I had most excellent company. The lovely Fiona was with me. The running, the shopping and even the new rug picking.

Yes, a most excellent way to spend a weekend.

Lyric of the Day:
I'm looking through you
Where did you go?
I thought I knew you
What did I know?
